Buyers Agent Overview

The process of hiring a buyers agent is often misunderstood by the public. Many buyers, rightly so, feel they can find their home utilizing the many search engines available on the internet today. Zillow, Realtor.com and dozens of other sites provide search friendly options to find your next home. What most buyers do not understand is that the seller pays a commission to a buyers agent. As a buyer you do not pay your buyers agent anything for their service (in most cases).

The housing market is very competitive and often times if you are not the first one in the door to a new listing you missed your chance. Not to mention having someone in your corner to review comparable sales to make sure you are paying the right price. Next up are dozens of pages on contracts and addendums that must be drafted properly. Once an offer is accepted the fun is just starting. Now you have loan underwriting, home inspections, appraisals, and choosing an attorney to close the sale.

If you would not go to court without an attorney, don’t buy a home without a buyers agent!
